This chair was designed for two woodworking classes. The first focused on hardwood joinery techniques and the second focused on bent plywood. I decided to make the most of the year and design a chair that encapsulates both techniques in a single chair.
This project was completely rendered in Adobe Illustrator. Badminton is an incredibly popular sport overseas and incorporates a lot of quick and sudden movement sin all directions similar to that of fencing. Layering the various materials like the overmolded rubber that wraps over the toe box is not only aesthetiic but crucial to the fuctionality of the shoe as this part of the foot sees a lot of wear when the player slides their anchor foot as a means to keep themselves centered on the court.
How can we enable the Maker with an induction hob? Induction is an incredibly efficient way to transfer heat into your cooking vessel. If it is made of a ferrous material like cast iron, stainless steel, or carbon steel. How can we make induction hobs more versatile like fire?
Sand is a cooking medium that reaches back into our culinary roots. Sand has great heat retention and allows the Maker to move their cooking vessel to adjust for the intensity of heat like you would see when brewing turkish coffee. Sand also forms itself around whatever shapeyou place on it like a round bottom wok.
Designed to be the trophy for the winning team of Apex Legends: Global Series. This Gaming Embody leaned heavily on the event's location in Saporo, Japan as well as the featured character; Valkyrie. Valkyrie's Suzaku's Heirloom, a spear-like weapon, is also referenced with the traditional leather handle wrap featured on the spine and arms of the chair.
